Parenting & Family Services
Parent Consultations

All of our providers work very closely with parents to communicate how their child is doing in therapy, and to discuss ways to support their child's growth and progress at home. We deeply believe in parents as the experts on their child(ren) and embrace a collaborative approach in working with children and their families. We pride ourselves on the quality and dependability of our communication and make meeting with parents a regular part of the child's therapeutic process.

Family Sessions

Family therapy focuses on the roles and dynamics within a family and on improvement in relationships among family members. Family therapy can include any combination of family members. The goal is to help family members understand each other, support each other, and work through difficult situations.
We often find that with family therapy, negative beliefs, patterns and feedback loops can be changed, resulting in more positive beliefs and experiences, and creating deep relief and lasting change within the family system. We tailor family therapy to meet each family's needs and utilize a variety of expressive arts modalities in family work.

Child Parent Relationship Therapy

CPRT is a play therapy-based treatment program for children presenting with behavioral, emotional, social, and attachment disorders and focuses on the importance of a strong connection between parent and child. When participating in CPRT, parents will take part in 8 sessions held within a supportive group environment and led by a play therapist trained in this evidenced-based treatment. Parents can expect to gain effective parenting skills to best meet their child’s emotional and behavioral needs. We can also provide modifications of this approach as needed to work with parents individually or to address specialized concerns.
